Meet Our Newest Tees: St. Thérèse, St. Zélie, Dorothy Day, Pope Leo XIV & More
Five new designs, each one carrying a message I’ve been holding close lately. Some are words from saints I’ve loved for years. One is from Scripture. And one is from our new Holy Father. Together, they’re little reminders of how to live our faith in ordinary, everyday life: with love, with courage, with goodness, and with open hands.
Here’s a closer look at each one.
My Vocation Is Love — St. Thérèse Tee
“My vocation is love.” 🌹
Oh, how I adore St. Thérèse and this beautiful declaration of hers. After wrestling with her place in the Church, she came to understand that love was at the very heart of every vocation.
Whatever our state in life, whatever God has called us to do, we are all called to love: in the ordinary moments of our days, in the people placed in front of us, in the small things that might otherwise go unnoticed. That’s the heart of her Little Way, and exactly what I hoped to celebrate with this design.
Carry On Bravely — St. Zélie Tee“Carry on bravely.” 💜
These words from St. Zélie Martin are ones I think so many of us need to hear from time to time. Zélie was a wife, mother, and businesswoman who knew firsthand the joys and difficulties of ordinary life. She experienced tremendous suffering, and her story reminds me that holiness doesn’t require a life free from hardship.
Sometimes holiness looks like showing up for the people who need us, trusting God in the uncertainty, and finding the courage to keep going. I wanted this design to honor the quiet bravery of women living out their vocations every single day.
And a fun detail: Zélie was a talented lacemaker who ran her own lace business, which inspired the sweet lace hearts in this design!
Peace Begins When the Hungry Are Fed — Dorothy Day Tee“Peace begins when the hungry are fed.” 💚
I have so much love for Dorothy Day and the way she lived out her Catholic faith. She didn’t just talk about caring for the poor. She went out and did something about it. Through the Catholic Worker movement, she spent her life feeding people, welcoming strangers, and standing up for those who were so often forgotten.
Her words still ring true today. We have a responsibility to care for one another, and sometimes that starts with something as simple as making sure our neighbor has enough to eat.
Build Bridges — Pope Leo XIV TeeFrom the very beginning of his papacy, Pope Leo XIV has encouraged us to be people who build bridges through dialogue and encounter. I knew almost immediately that this was a message I wanted to turn into a shirt.
At a time when division feels so deeply rooted, we need this reminder. Building bridges doesn’t mean abandoning our convictions or pretending our differences don’t matter. It means recognizing the dignity of the people on the other side of those differences and being willing to meet one another with love. What a beautiful challenge for the Church, and for each of us!
Cling to What Is Good Tee
“Cling to what is good.” – Romans 12:9
This little reminder from Scripture feels especially needed right now. So much is competing for our attention, and it can be so easy to get discouraged by all the ugliness in the world.
Scripture reminds us to hold tightly to what is good: to seek it out, nurture it, and be part of bringing more of it into the world. I love the idea of carrying this reminder with us, especially on the days when goodness feels a little harder to find.
The DetailsAll five tees are unisex crew necks that run true to size, from XS to 3XL, and they’re so soft. In-stock shirts ship within 2 business days. (Check our size guide if you’re between sizes!)
Made for Wearing, and for Gifting
These were made to be worn, to Mass, to school pickup, to coffee with a friend, and to all the ordinary places where our faith is lived out. They also make wonderful gifts for the mom, sister, godmother, or friend who would love a little encouragement she can wear.
Which one is your favorite? I’d love to know. And if you snag one, tag us @brickhouseinthecity. Few things make me do a happy dance like seeing you wear our tees! 🤍
